WRITE YOUR SITCOM PILOT
Every great comedy series starts with a single, undeniable voice. What’s yours? This dynamic 8-week course guides you step-by-step from the spark of an idea to a fully structured sitcom pilot script.
We’ll explore what makes some legendary comedy worlds tick (also tock!), dissecting hit shows for the important stuff: world, characters, conflict, stakes, scene work, pacing, jokes, and story. I’ll share some tools I have found useful in the pilot process (and just the regular old script process) over the years. You’ll use those to develop a foundation for your script, and then work on making the script bulletproof.
Best of all, you’ll experience what it’s like to be in a writers’ room: pitching and table-reading stories, beats, and scenes with a supportive group of peers. You’ll gain the confidence and momentum to finish your pilot and get your unique sense of humor onto the page.
Plus, after our 8 classes wrap up, we'll cap it off with a private 30-minute 1-on-1 meeting where we analyze and evaluate your complete draft together.
Wednesdays- Sept. 16, 23, 30, Oct. 7, 14, 21, 28, Nov. 4; Final Meeting Nov. 18
